Classes start Monday, October 7th

Behavior Plan - if your child becomes unsafe and disruptive in class they will be at risk of unenrollment from the club.

Absentee policy - If your child is not able to attend class on a given day please notify the office and send an email to Mikayla Pagnini at [email protected] prior to 2:00pm on the day of class. - If an instructor is absent, parents will be notified by telephone/email as soon as possible and students will be sent home at their normal dismissal time. If we are unable to reach you, the student will be in the school office until a parent can be reached. The class will be rescheduled. - There are no make-­up days for student absences. - Make up classes: If a class can not meet due to rain/weather, the instructor will be in touch to schedule a make up class.

Safety and pick up procedures - All students meet in the PRS GYM after school for attendance and to be met by the class instructor. ­Pick-up for all classes is in the PRS GYM by parents/guardians at 3:30pm sharp. You may provide a note to the instructor if your child is to walk home or be dismissed to someone other than a parent. Instructors will pass the notes along to the office.

MONDAYS

Archery $100
Grades 3-5
This course will introduce students to the basic techniques of outdoor target archery, emphasizing the care and use of equipment, range safety, stance and shooting techniques, scoring, and competition. Instructor: Ms. Pagnini (PRS Gym Teacher)
 
Teddy Bear Cooking Club $105
Grades K-1
Join our fun-filled class and unlock the world of cooking and recipe creation! Learn the basics, unleash your inner chef, and become a junior culinary master.
Instructor: Susanne Laffin (Former Home Economics Teacher and current consultant & culinary expert) 

Crafts Galore $100

Grades K-5
Come join us to create some colorful Fall crafts. Students will make something different each week. After completing their craft, they have an option to work with clay. (everyone gets their own container) First, they will explore and experiment using their ideas. Students will eventually make a clay figure to paint and glaze. Some of the crafts we will be making are wreaths, a watercolor leaf collage, decorate pumpkin ornaments and backpack keychains. Hope to see you there!

Fall Crafts and Read Alouds! $100
Grades K-2 Students will start each session by listening to a fun fall-themed child's book! They will then spend time making hands-on crafts to go with the theme of the story! From painting pumpkins to creating with fall leaves, students are sure to have a ton of fun in this afterschool class!
Instructor: Katie Burritt is a first-grade teacher at PRS who loves reading and crafting on her own time. Fall is her favorite time of year, and she looks forward to making some spectacular creations with students together in this class.

Creative Directed Drawing $100
Grades 2-3
Join us for a relaxing after-school drawing class. Each week, you will draw, color, and paint a personalized work of art. Get ready to have fun and let your imagination run wild.
Instructor: Mrs. Osterman is a PRS reading specialist. She looks forward to seeing all the fantastic artwork the students create after school.

Pokemon Palooza $105
Grades 1-5
Come join the PRS Pokemon Club, where you will learn all about different types of Pokemon and trade your own Pokemon cards with friends! If you have a binder of Pokemon cards, feel free to bring it in each week and let the trading begin! Students will receive a few new Pokemon cards from the instructor each week.

Lights, Camera, Action! $95
Grades K-5
Back by popular demand, Lights, Camera Action will consist of theater warm-up games and improv scenes. In addition, students will also have an opportunity to act in a variety of family-friendly stories and plays. Students will also become familiar with basic theater terms and how to utilize props to make their characters come alive. Due to time constraints, there will be no performances for parents/guardians but children will perform for one another. Everyone can be a STAR in our PRS Drama Club!
Instructors: Linda Harned and Ellen Sheil are PRS paraeducators.

PRS Newspaper $90
Grades 3-5
Do you like writing stories, PRS updates, the weather, or comic strips? Join us to learn how to write and create a school newspaper! We will publish the newspaper for the PRS community at the end of the six weeks.
Instructor: Mrs. Matthews is the HPS Elementary Writing Specialist. She works at PRS on Tuesdays and loves writing with K-5 students!

Chess Club $100
Grades 1-5
Chess Club is a great way to play chess while learning more about this fantastic game in a really fun and social environment! Individualized instruction is provided through in-game coaching and 1:1 lesson time whenever needed. Participants will receive a free chess rules booklet as well as weekly chess prizes to encourage practice and play in between meetings. All beginner-to-intermediate players are welcome!
Instructor: Michael Yezukevich is an accomplished USCF tournament player and has been a professional chess instructor for 10+yrs. In addition to private lessons, Michael has taught chess in after-school enrichment programs and has created children’s chess clubs at schools, libraries and recreation centers across the South Shore. Michael is also the Director of The South Shore Chess Club in Quincy.

Do you like to dance and have fun? If the answer is YES, then Dance Party is for you! You will learn line dances, routines, movement breaks and lots more! Free up your mind, loosen up your muscles and come dance with your Assistant Principal, Ms.Smith!

SKATEBOARDING $90
Grades K-5
Can’t wait to break out your board? Come learn the basics, as well as advanced, skateboarding techniques with the riders from Technical Skate shop. In this class, we will be covering safety, cooperation and all the components of skateboarding. The classes will take place outside and Technical will be providing some of the skateboarding obstacles. Learn how to skateboard or sharpen your skill. **Participants must supply their own skateboard, helmet, elbow and knee pads.
Instructor: Bobby DePesa is the owner of Technical Skate Shop in Norwell, MA. 

Running Club $90

Grades 4-5
Come join our exercise filled running club. Whether you're training for the PTO 5K, want to improve in sports, and get some fresh air this club is for you. Each class will start with a dynamic warm up followed by 30 minutes of continuous running and finish with stretches. We will improve our speed and distance each class. Must have running attire. Instructor: Mr. Lamothe (PRS Principal)
